Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
FinRoad is a personal-finance planning app. We built it to keep your data with you: the financial information you enter stays on your device. This policy explains the little data we do collect and how we handle it.
1. Who We Are
FinRoad is operated by Rodrigo Silva ("we", "us"), the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us at privacy@finroadapp.com or through our Support Page.
2. Data That Stays on Your Device
Everything you enter into FinRoad — incomes, expenses, goals, portfolios, planning inputs, and your app preferences — is stored locally on your device only. We do not have a user account system and we do not upload, receive, or store this information on our servers. It is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
3. Analytics & Diagnostics We Collect
The only data that leaves your device is anonymous product telemetry, processed through Google's Firebase platform:
- Analytics (consent-based): anonymous usage and interaction events, approximate region, and a per-install identifier. Our analytics provider may briefly process your IP address to derive coarse location; we do not store it. This is collected only if you opt in.
- Crash diagnostics: when the app crashes, a report including device model, operating system, and app state is collected so we can fix the problem.
- Performance diagnostics: anonymous metrics about app responsiveness and stability.
This data is pseudonymous and is not used to identify you personally.
4. Legal Basis
- Analytics: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Crash & performance diagnostics: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the app stable and secure.
5. Your Consent and How to Change It
On first launch FinRoad asks whether you want to share anonymous usage data. Analytics stays disabled until you opt in. You can turn it on or off at any time under Settings → Share usage data.
6. Third-Party Processors
We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring) as a processor for the telemetry above. Google may process this data on infrastructure outside the EU; such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Data Retention
On-device data is kept until you remove it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling. Analytics and diagnostics data is retained by Firebase for a limited period in line with Google's retention settings, after which it is deleted or aggregated.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because your financial data lives only on your device, you control it directly — clearing or uninstalling the app removes it. For the analytics and diagnostics we process, contact us at privacy@finroadapp.com or via our Support Page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Children's Privacy
FinRoad is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at privacy@finroadapp.com or through our Support Page.
